REVERING RESILIENCE

It’s ingrained in us to recognize achievement and idolize perfection. We celebrate major milestones, glossy wins, and moments that showcase our best selves. We admire beautiful homes, well-behaved kids, thriving careers, and the appearance of effortlessness.
But there is something deeper that deserves recognition: the quiet strength it takes to keep going, the persistence to get back up, and the resilience that shapes us just as much, if not more, than our successes. Adversity is often hidden beneath a polished exterior, whispered about, or met with well-meaning but distant sympathy. There is a stigma around hardship, as if facing challenges is something to hide rather than a natural part of life.
But what if we felt pride in our resilience instead of shame in our adversity? Resilience is foundational for growth and progress. It helps us adapt to unimaginable hardships, persist through unexpected setbacks, and empowers a quiet determination to move forward. Our struggles are not failures; they are proof of our strength. In celebrating victories, let’s honor the sheer grit it took to get there.
Perfection may impress us, but resilience is what truly connects us.
This week, let go of judgment around adversity and embrace pride in resilience.
I would be delighted to hear from you—hit reply and share your thoughts. And if this resonates, pass it along to someone who might find it meaningful.
Coach Caren
